Life Expectancy & Hyperparathyroidism
Hyperparathyroidism takes an exacting toll on your body. People who have parathyroid disease for more than 15 years, in general, will live 5 years less than individuals who have not/do not have the parathyroid disease. Knowing this, it is important to address the hyperparathyroidism and have it attended to as soon as possible. You gain nothing by waiting, observing, putting it off for whatever reason. In not getting treatment when you have learned of your parathyroid disease, you will steadily get worse physically, emotionally, medically.
